An oasis in Orlando.

Orlando- Without a doubt, it's a real challenge to find a worthy small detour in Orlando, Florida, for obvious reasons: this is the theme park capital of the world (not a fan of those, even as a kid) and the ubiquitous Mickey Mouse shape is everywhere, even in the electricity transmission towers. But recently my husband and I found ourselves there for a few hours on an errand and a friend suggested this fantastic jazz and wine bar called Vines Grille. It's so gorgeous and has a fantastic atmosphere. We forgot about Mickey instantly. Great live music, an outstanding wine selection (a bottle for $35,000 anyone?) and the fresh oysters are to die for. They have a great happy hour with exquisite tapas and great wines, or even a killer martini, for incredibly affordable prices. Definitely worth the small detour to spend a very long afternoon here!

Happy small detours!
