Lisbon- In this magical city which we adore, if you know good food, you have to start by eating at one of chef Jose Avillez restaurants. We tried his newest one, Bairro Do Avillez.  There are no words for the sheer magic Avillez creates in the kitchen. Don't leave without trying the mackerel cones and the twice cooked veal, which he cooks for 12 hours in the taverna area of the restaurant. We were on a trance. Bairro de Avillez includes a small gourmet shop, a traditional taverna (where we ate) a charcuterie  counter, and a courtyard restaurant in the back. He also owns Belcanto, the city's only restaurant with two Michelin stars.
