The unique beauty of a small museum

Venice- It's an impossible task to try to pick a favorite museum in Italy (it's Italy! Every other building is a museum) but I adore the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. I am also fascinated by her novelesque life and the fact that decades after her death the war over her collection is still going on. It's easy to explore and beautifully curated. Overlooking the Grand Canale, its impressive modern art collection is housed in the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, the 18th century home of the heiress herself, who lost her father in the Titanic. I took this photo from one of its windows overlooking the Venice Grand Canale. Afterwards go have lunch in Pane Vino San Daniele in the same Dorsoduro area. Great, authentic venetian food .

Happy Small Detour!
